The Resort General Manager of a luxury resort in Sedona, AZ is responsible for overseeing all operations, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Resort Activities, Retail, Maintenance, and Landscaping. Work Performed by the Resort General Manager in Sedona, AZ:


  • Oversee all resort operations, including Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Resort Activities, Maintenance, and Landscaping to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Maintain high standards of guest service by collaborating with departments and addressing concerns promptly, while focusing on continuous improvement through strong relationships with quality assurance teams and trainers.
  • Supervise, coach, and conduct performance reviews for staff to ensure optimal team performance and guest satisfaction, while managing labor and operating expenses effectively.
  • Achieve department profitability objectives by exploring new ways to grow revenues and profits, and implementing creative cost control and revenue generation solutions.
  • Collaborate with Reservations, Sales, and Front Office to optimize rate, occupancy, and total revenue, and interact with VIPs, homeowners, and meeting planners to build strong relationships.
  • Implement industry-standard training programs in operations to maintain a skilled workforce and work with Human Resources to ensure staff satisfaction and proper management practices.
  • Assist in preparing business forecasts, suggesting improvements for revenue, cost reduction, and guest satisfaction, and collaborate with the Managing Director on projects and development needs.
  • Manage guest satisfaction initiatives by working with departments to improve scores and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for all guests.
  • Coordinate with neighboring property General Managers to ensure smooth guest experiences across properties and maintain safety and emergency procedures for guests and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the resort, while maintaining a flexible schedule and adapting to operational needs.


Supervision Exercised: Oversee the Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Lodging, Activities Director, Director of Engineering, Landscaping Manager, and Director of Retail.

 

Report to the Managing Director.

Minimum Requirements: A college degree, preferably in hotel management or business administration, or equivalent experience is required. Three to five years of previous experience as a Director of Operations/Resort Manager or General Manager at a luxury resort is essential. Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks are necessary. Computer skills are required, with advanced PMS experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess strong guest and team member relations skills, a good command of the English language, and legal work authorization in the United States. A flexible schedule is necessary, including the ability to work morning/afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays.
