Seaside Resort - Cape May, New Jersey

Compensation package up to $70k


We're actively seeking an experienced Front Desk Manager with a proven track record in the hospitality industry. This role is based at our oceanfront resort in Cape May, NJ.


As the Front Desk Manager, your key objective will be to maintain the smooth operation of our front desk. Your strong leadership will guide our team towards achieving exemplary guest satisfaction from check-in to check-out, ensuring each interaction meets or exceeds our high service standards.


As the Front Desk Manager, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining resort revenue and profitability through efficient resource management and meticulous attention to detail. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations and guest experiences.


Key Responsibilities – Front Desk Manager:

• Lead all front desk operations, ensuring procedures are accurately and efficiently executed.

• Recruit, train, and mentor front desk staff, equipping them with the tools they need to excel. As the Front Desk Manager, you'll enforce standard operating procedures and company policies.

• Create weekly work schedules in line with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts, adjusting as necessary to meet the business demands.

• Ensure all required training for new hires is completed according to standards.

• Empower your team to provide exceptional guest service, allowing them to make informed decisions to satisfy guest needs.

• Ensure the front desk staff have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, and policies, as well as local area knowledge.

• Front Desk Manager Oversee the accuracy of all guest charges, continuously reviewing for accuracy and legitimacy.

•The Front Desk Manager will handle guest complaints, accident reports, and other incident reports as directed by the Resort General Manager, adhering to all hotel requirements.


As the Front Desk Manager, you will also:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasting of revenue, expenses, and occupancy with accuracy.

• Contribute to maintaining productivity and labor cost goals.

• Ensure proper security is maintained over all cash funds, deposits, and safes at the front desk.

• Oversee credit control and handling of financial transactions.

• Ensure all cashiering procedures comply with accounting policies and standards.


Skills Required – Front Desk Manager:

• High school or equivalent education required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Front Desk Supervisor or other related guest-services position in a mid-size hotel/resort.

• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; proficiency in other languages is beneficial.

• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.

• Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Advanced knowledge of property management systems; Opera systems preferred.

• Ability to positively communicate and instruct employees and offer training and guidance to entry-level employees.

• Ability to work flexible hours in a 24 x 7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
