Compensation for the Assistant Director of Banquets and Events in Phoenix, AZ:

  • Salary Range $80K-$90K
  • 40% bonus opportunity paid quarterly


Job Summary for the Assistant Director of Banquets and Events in Phoenix, AZ:

 

As an Assistant Director of Banquets and Events, you will be at the heart of our hotel's extensive service offerings. This role is pivotal in aiding the Director of Banquets and Events in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that our team meets assigned catering and food/beverage sales goals that contribute to the overall performance of our establishment. You will have the opportunity to manage our dedicated catering and conference service teams, provide exceptional service to our clients/groups, and uphold the contracted food and beverage minimum.

 

This role demands a professional who can successfully perform administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50 percent of their time, using discretion and independent judgement.

 

Qualifications for the Assistant Director of Banquets and Events in Phoenix, AZ:

 

  • Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of progressive hotel catering sales experience or a related degree with sufficient experience.
  • The Assistant Director of Banquets and Events will be a strong influencer. Not settling for status quo, but willing to be the CHANGE agent when it comes to customer service.
  • They will demonstrate creativity and knowledge of food, beverage, and event planning.
  • Applicants must possess strong verbal & written communication skills, have professional selling skills and show strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential.
  • Experience with Delphi is a plus.

 


Job Responsibilities for the Assistant Director of Banquets and Events in Phoenix, AZ:

 

  • The Assistant Director of Banquets and Events will effectively manage assigned meeting planner satisfaction scores, revenue goals, and food and beverage catering sales goals.
  • They will also understand and negotiate terms in catering contracts, proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct tours, and entertain clients specific to the needs of our property. Monitoring and evaluating trends within your market segment is key to this role.
  • The Assistant Director of Banquets and Events will adhere to our established regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards, and related catering sales metrics.
  • They will develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of our hotel and applicable departments.
  • Timely delivery of banquet event orders and effective communication of changes to impacted departments/operations leaders is crucial.

 

The successful Assistant Director of Banquets and Events will maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations. They may assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments, attend required meetings, and maintain professional working relationships and open lines of communication with internal departments.
